Why the heck is it so hard to change?


Change is inevitable.

Even if you resist change, it will still happen.

So why wait, or fret about changes that happen in your life?

Over the last couple of years, a lot has changed in my life.  Some changes for the better, some not so good.

For instance, once upon a time, I was naive enough to think that there were some things that would never change. Things like, I would move in the same circle of friends, I would continue down the same path in my career, I would never think of moving or selling my home, and I was staying in my church forever.

If you relate to any of that then you know that change happens whether you like it or not.  Friends suddenly move on, that career becomes not what you envisioned, and the Universe has a different plan that is not in a direction you can even imagine.

The most important thing to realize about change is its growth!  It's learning to flow with the stream instead of fighting against the tide.

It's understanding that you may grow in a different direction from friends and colleagues and when that happens it's OK to make new friends and new contacts.

Moving and changing to grow and expand is part of fulfilling your purpose.

So, why the heck is it so hard to change?

There are a couple of things:

1.  Old habits are hard to shake.

2. You have an enormous desire, though you don't know how to make it happen so you don't make a move.

3. You don't believe that your dreams and goals can really happen.

4. You are afraid of failure and the repercussions that you perceive come with that.

5.  You think you need to be perfect before you can achieve your goals and dreams.

All of these reasons are just thoughts coming from feelings that are preventing you from moving forward, changing your present, to achieve your future.

How do I get unstuck?


How do you feel when you get stuck?

Do you feel overwhelmed, burned out, or just lose your motivation and inspiration?

I'm here to tell you don't beat yourself up because everyone at some point in their journey gets stuck.

There are ways to get unstuck and out of overwhelm and they're not as difficult as you might think.

These past couple of months have been a little tough in my household.  When you have a large family something is always going on, and when it's two or more then it can get a little hairy.  By that I mean, challenging!

So, how do I cope?  I'm going to give you some very easy things that I do that can get you back on track with your goals, dreams, relationships, and your life!

1.  The first thing is don't beat yourself up.  It's OK to pause!  By pause I mean take a breath.  Get off social media, or get on and have fun whichever one is less stressful.  SM can get overwhelming if you are using it for your biz, and not seeing the results you want.  Then again, it can be fun to do some silly reels and also watch some!

2.  Don't hustle all the time.  Consistency is what pays off.  That's in all areas of your life.  After cooking meals for my family for decades, I have to remind myself it's ok to let them cook.  They are all adults and CAN fend for themselves.  If you are cooking, enjoy it!  Take the time to enjoy making that new recipe and take in all the wonderful smells of the seasonings and veggies you are chopping and dicing.

3.  Do take time to meditate and/or pray.  I get stuck mainly because my mind gets cluttered and I don't have clarity.  When I recognize that, I immediately get out my Young Living Essential Oils and grab one that appeals to me as well as one I know will help clear my thoughts.  Using Essential Oils will help you get unstuck much faster than if you don't use them.

Remember feeling stuck or overwhelmed comes from your thoughts.  Changing your thoughts and clearing your mind will immediately get you going in the direction you want to again.


One thing to remember here is our thoughts attract similar thoughts.  So, if I am having low vibrating thoughts then that's where my mind is going to continue going unless I stop it.

Are you still Sane and Healthy after the pandemic?



So, what is SANE???????

Well, I always say "insanity" is heredity, you get it from your kids, although I think these last couple of years have taken a toll on most Mamas.

Whether you've been homeschooling and working, or homeschooling and never getting a break, not being able to be as social as "normal," or feeling locked in, you've probably felt the shift in how feelings are flowing.

And, now things are starting to get going again, it's hard to find the new normal, the new sane, and get out of the sweatpants, and find out if you have been using food as a comfort just a tad too much!

With all of this craziness of the seemingly endless mask-wearing, non-socializing lifestyle comes fear.  Fear of being ill, fear of not being enough for everyone, fear surrounding teaching your kids, fear of your marriage coming to a place of disarray because of close quarters and short tempers.  Fear of the news, the numbers, what's coming next, and keeps you from being yourself, or what you once knew as yourself.

Fear comes in all forms and generally ends up with you feeding it unintentionally.  Food, wine, binge-watching Netflix because of the lack of social interaction with your peers.  It can make you overprotective of your kids, eat way more take-out than you should, and be frustrated as well as short-tempered.

So, what can you do as things begin to get back to what will become the "new normal?"  Here are a few tips:

1.  Let go of perfection.

Let's face it, this is not the time to even try to be the "perfect Mama!"  If, and I do mean IF, there is such a thing.  Perfection is FEAR!  Yup, fear of failing, fear of not being enough, fear of not getting your home is house and garden LOL!  Let perfection go, and the stress will ease up.

2. Having a schedule to manage the "unknown."

As a Mama of a very large family, routines and schedules are a must.  In the last couple of years, all of that had to be flexible and schedules had to be reworked to fit what was happening, both known, and unknown.  Kids feel way more secure with a routine, and when you have one in place, their behavior improves, and life gets to have more sanity and insanity!

3.  Calming the storms.

As much as you can feel overwhelmed and frustrated, so can kids.  In fact, your energy of anxiety, overwhelm, or frustration, will attract the same from your kids, and vice versa.  When they are acting out if you can take a breath and stay calm, your energy will cause them to be calm as well.  Sounds crazy?  No.  Two opposite energies cannot exist in the same space.  So keep your sanity by breathing your way and theirs to calmness.

4. Emotions are waves.

All feelings are waves, felt internal, and cannot last forever.  They will pass through and diminish if you are present, aware, and let them.  Emotions are waves until there is an action that then escalates the feeling into an emotion.  Emotions are feelings with actions.  It's not great to hide your feelings as they tend to build up and then explode as an action-packed emotion.  Let your kids know when you need a hug as well as comfort them when they need one.

5. Embrace every opportunity.

Kids are resilient, but they have feelings and emotions.  They have personalities, and if yours are anything like mine, they are all different.  Take every opportunity to make each child know they are understood, loved, and wanted.  Just like you can have thoughts of rejection, unworthiness, and loneliness, your kids can have those too.
Let them know you're their cheerleader as well as their Mama.

The Truth About Getting What You Want!


Our brain is powerful!

It can be logical, practical, creative, intuitive, create thoughts, powerful, and silent.

We have a thinking part, (the left brain,) and a feeling part, (the right brain.)

And when they come together to be single-minded, we have power, the ability to act, make huge changes in our lives, be healthy, peaceful, and joyous.

Now, ask yourself, how often are you single-minded?

Most of the time, if you're like me, I am struggling with my left and right brain having a tug of war!

I write a list of your desires, goals, dreams, and then the feelings of doubt, fear, unworthiness, and self-sabotage start to make those things I really want seem almost impossible.

So, then the buffering comes in.

"What's buffering" you may ask.

It's all the things you do that stop you from consciously putting the two sides of your brain together and get it done.

When you know that you need to write that schedule for next week or food prep so you won't cheat, or put your latest blog, or offer out there for people to see, you sidetrack yourself.  You watch some rubbish TV or eat a bag of chips, scroll through social media, anything but put in the work to get the desires of your heart.

Why does this happen, and why does it happen so often?

Because really the brain thinks it's protecting us from doing something uncomfortable.

And, to intentionally create the desires of your heart requires you to get uncomfortable.

Life changes, which come from changing feelings, and thoughts, require single-mindedness.  Single-mindedness requires the conscious effort to bring both sides of the brain into harmony.  To a single mind. 

A mind that is powerful, and can create all of the things you wish to have.

Learning to be single-minded takes being mindful.  Practicing mindfulness.  Daily, hourly, every time you feel distracted from your purpose.

Mindful of thoughts.

Mindful of words.

Mindful of feelings.

When we feel one thing, and think the same one thing, we are using our whole brain.  

We are no longer at war inside, we are no longer double-minded, we are single-minded on that one thing.

And_that_is_mind_blowing!


To put it simply, to create your success, your desires, your goals, you need to agree with both sides of your brain.

New Year, New You!


Well, we all have New Year's resolutions right?

I can say for myself that I usually do and they are different goals for different parts of my life.  I actually love to look back at my diary and see what I wrote last year and how did that all go? I dreaded doing that this year because I really thought we would be through with this pandemic, and somehow magically biz and life would resume to somewhat what they looked like before.

Well, I'm pretty sure some of you can agree that 2021 seemed like a long 2020, and no, for the most part, things did not pan out like they used to.  I found myself pivoting, procrastinating, putting plans in place to find that people weren't ready to socialize, and feeling like life in some ways was great, but in other areas seemed to slide down the rabbit hole.

I'm not one to give up, and I know for sure you aren't, so as the seasons flowed through I realized I needed to stop swimming upstream and go with the flow.  Finding the flow was a bit tricky, but I knew it was out there if I just persisted, and find it I did.

Right now we are in the Holiday season where stress, and overwhelm can get us if we let it.  It's a season of too much food where we are tempted to overeat, or sometimes overdrink, in the spirit of being merry, and if we go too much with that flow our New Year's resolution will include losing the Christmas season's extra 10lb!

My resolutions for the next year have been tweaked and changed a little.  Oh, there'll be the usual biz goals, personal, spiritual, and growth goals, and also the goal to go with the flow of things.  Allow for the unexpected, give time to rest, and recuperate, make time for fun, laughter, prayer, and meditation, so life looks a little more balanced.

This year, I've lost some dear friends, not just to the pandemic, but to stress, resulting in lives being ended too soon.  It's made me stop and think about what life is really for.  Being abundant in all areas of my life, not just slogging away for finances, goals, cleaning, washing, cooking (unless I'm enjoying that,) making sure of my physical fitness, and attending to my quiet times as in prayer, and meditation.

This next year my motto is New Year, New You!

My Story:



I've been through many life-changing moves in my life.  It started with getting a divorce more than a couple of decades ago which changed the whole path to my future.  I left my marriage and got divorced when I was twenty-eight years old with two small children.



I didn't have a job, I was a stay-at-home mum. I hadn't been employed in the workplace for nearly five years and the small allowance given by Social Services was not even close to being able to support me or my kids. In fact, I was pretty broke!



The only other income I had was literally singing for my supper. I was a well-known Singer/Actress in a very popular group at the time and if not for a couple of jobs I managed to get every week singing, I'm not sure how we would have survived.



But, instead of getting bogged down wondering how I was going to support myself and my kids, I used my genius talent and left that divorce behind me. It turned out my divorce made me incredibly strong and independent again.  I got moving and doing on to the life I always wanted to create.



I kicked my ex out and started my new life!



I started my new life feeling free even though finances were a bit of a struggle.  But, because I  believed I could make it all work, it did.  Money was not as much as I would have liked, but it was there when I needed it and I was happy. I missed a meal or two, or three or four, but the kids were fed and I needed to lose a few pounds anyway!



After that came lots of changes.  I attracted my soul mate, got married, and became pregnant almost immediately.  When I was seven months along, my amazing hubby left his cushy Public Service job and started a business.  Never regretted it!



A new path began again!



Suddenly, we were generating our own income which should have been a little scary, but once again I always believed we would succeed, and guess what?  We did!



The business was booming and all was well when our worst nightmare came true.  Our business manager spent every penny of the company's money and left the country.  We were back to square one with a huge debt, and now four kids.



Well, with income being very scarce, I decided I needed to earn some income.  I'd only worked as a professional entertainer for years and had let that lapse a bit having had two extra children in the first two years we were married.  I had to work around them, and leave room for amazing hubby to start again as well.



You won't believe my next move!



I decided to become an Avon Lady. You know, ding dong, door to door, selling out of that little book that came out every three weeks! I think my hubby rolled on the floor laughing, but not for long. You see, I believed I would succeed and succeed I did.  I put my genius talent to work again, and in three months I was one of the top three sales representatives in the State.



Within six months, I was asked to be a Stand-In Manager and manage an Avon District for a Manager on leave.  About twelve months into my little adventure, I was hired by Corporate Avon in Australia as a Manager with my own District,  salary, expense account, and my own car.  I wasn't bringing home two bob anymore, I was a contributor to the family income.



That was the good part. The hard part was my new District was #Thirty out of Thirty-three in the state.  I had my work cut out for me. Well, I'm here to tell you that in six months my District was #Three and nobody was laughing anymore!



My hubby built another Consulting business while I worked at Avon and we were once again back to being abundant in all areas of our life.  The Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation in action!  We didn't even know these Laws of the Universe were at work in our lives, we just believed in our genius talent!



The surprise move that came next!



Over the next few years, we were financially stable again and I resigned from what had become a grueling time-sucking job at Avon and moved back into the entertainment industry.  During this time amazing brilliant hubby had come up with the idea to write one of the first Anti-Virus programs for computers in the world.



Well, life got pretty sweet, and we were rolling along on the golf course in Brisbane most days when he asked me about a big surprise move!  How did I feel about moving to America?  I never hesitated.  Woo Hoo! I was totally in. 



We began to pack up what we could take with us, our clothes, furniture, my piano and called the movers.  We rented the house, said good-bye and hubby, myself and four kids with half a suitcase each, boarded a plane one Saturday morning in January to start our new adventure.



Everyone thought we were crazy but I knew this was one of the most amazing kick-butt moves I'd ever made in my life.



Then reality set in and I found another new path!



When I actually moved countries, I had become very successful as both a songwriter and performer in my hometown. It never occurred to me that I would not continue my professional music and acting career, but the struggle to re-establish myself was real and after few years I realized that I had to change paths yet again.



I took a year to just find myself and then a whisper came to my ear about adopting a child that needed a home from foster care.  It moved very quickly from a thought to an actuality.  Within a couple of days, we were in a ten-week course for foster/adoptive parents.  We found pure potential when we had no clue that the ability or desire to do this lay deep inside of us. This became one of the most rewarding and fulfilling journeys in my life.



At the end of that ten weeks, I got a phone call and our new family began.  Twin boys, twenty-months old came for the weekend and stayed forever.  They were the first of about fifty foster children and the beginning of adopting eight children, which includes three sets of twins!



I loved my journey of being a foster/adoptive parent, but our house got full to overflowing, and even though most of our children are grown now, I am still an advocate and resource for Foster/Adoptive Parents.



How I decided to become a multi certified Life/Health Coach.



Many of our new children had been born drug and alcohol addicted, so I dealt with many different physical and mental issues that emerged in them as they began to grow up. I spent hours with our children in therapies of all kinds.



While dealing with Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapy, and a few psychiatrists along the way, I learned coping skills for managing different disabilities, and mental illnesses.  I also learned how to have a good relationship with birth families in difficult circumstances.



I also had an older family who was going through teenage years and found myself the local mom and counselor. Many a teenager came into our home crying and left feeling better about themselves and their situation. Although I was technically being a Life Coach to those kids, I didn't officially gain my certifications until much later



In the last couple of decades, I've been constantly changing the path of my life and being successful at doing so. I've also realized that change for some is not easy and making a major move in life can leave you overwhelmed, and exhausted, unable to deal with the feelings around it.



I've also worked with foster and adoptive parents for the last twenty years, who also have to move on when a child is moved to a different placement, and their feelings are very similar to the emotions surrounding any life change.



As well, I've since been touched by divorce in my older adult children's lives.  The biggest stumbling block they've had is moving on to their new life after divorce.



As I 've been there supporting them through their pain, I realized that I wanted to help others find their genius talent to get doing and moving and get their emotional energy flowing again. Through coaching, especially Seven + Seven Essentials, I love seeing them find their new life of joy and happiness.  I love working as a coach alongside essential oils, as the breakthroughs come so much faster when the power of oils is added.  

As a certified Aroma Freedom Technique Practioner, I have not only found the power of healing the mind with oils, but also healing the body.  

I'm a certified Life Coach in Causal Coaching, Law Of Attraction, Money, Health, and Essential Oils. I find that most women who have left marriage not only have emotions surrounding it but quite often now battle with their health and their finances. I triumphed over all of these issues, I moved on and never looked back. I can help you.



Where I am today.



Today, I am a confident mother of twelve children, a partner to an amazing man, and stepping out into everything the Universe and God have for me.  I value myself as a businesswoman, a wife, a mother, and no longer fear a change in direction.  I embrace all parts of me, creative, physical, mental, spiritual, and nourish each part of myself, with self-coaching, nutrition, and the power of essential oils.
