Help I'm stuck and need to get moving again!

Feeling stuck in life can be a frustrating and disheartening experience. It often arises when we feel like we're not making progress toward our goals or that we're trapped in a situation we don't want to be in. This can lead to feelings of hopelessness, anxiety, and even depression. However, being stuck in life is a common experience, and there are ways to move forward.

One way to start is by examining the reasons why you feel stuck. Is it because you're lacking direction, motivation, or resources? Once you understand the root cause of your situation, you can start to explore different ways to overcome it.

There are several ways to move forward when you feel stuck in life. One is to set new goals for yourself. This could involve redefining your priorities, exploring new interests, or pursuing a different career path. Another way to move forward is by seeking support from others.

This could mean reaching out to friends or family for emotional support or seeking professional help from a therapist or coach. Additionally, taking action towards your goals, no matter how small, can also help you break out of feeling stuck. Remember, progress doesn't have to happen overnight, and it's okay to take things one step at a time. By staying committed and focused on your goals, you can begin to move forward and overcome the feeling of being stuck in life.

There are two types of mindset: growth and fixed. A growth mindset is a belief that abilities and skills can be developed through dedication and hard work. People with a growth mindset see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow and believe that failure is not a permanent setback but a chance to improve.

On the other hand, a fixed mindset is the belief that abilities and skills are fixed and cannot be changed. People with a fixed mindset tend to avoid challenges, fear failure, and view it as a reflection of their inherent abilities. They tend to give up easily when faced with obstacles and do not see the value in taking risks or trying new things.

The main difference between a growth and a fixed mindset is that a growth mindset focuses on development and improvement, while a fixed mindset focuses on innate ability. People with a growth mindset are more likely to take on challenges, seek feedback, and embrace change, leading to a greater potential for success and personal growth.

In contrast, people with a fixed mindset tend to have a more limited view of their potential and may miss out on opportunities for growth and development. By understanding the differences between these mindsets, individuals can take steps to cultivate a growth mindset and achieve their full potential.

Having a growth mindset means believing that you can improve and develop your skills and abilities through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. It's a mindset that encourages continuous learning and embraces challenges as opportunities for growth. People with a growth mindset understand that failure is not a permanent setback but a chance to learn and improve.

They view setbacks and obstacles as challenges to be overcome rather than reasons to give up. With a growth mindset, individuals are more likely to take on new challenges, seek feedback, and embrace change. By adopting a growth mindset, people can achieve their full potential and create a more fulfilling and satisfying life for themselves.

Having a fixed mindset means believing that your skills, abilities, and intelligence are fixed and cannot be changed. People with a fixed mindset tend to avoid challenges, feel threatened by feedback or criticism, and give up easily when faced with obstacles. They see failure as a reflection of their inherent abilities and tend to view it as a personal weakness.

This mindset can lead to a lack of motivation, decreased performance, and reduced potential for growth and development. Individuals with a fixed mindset may miss out on opportunities for learning and personal growth because they are not willing to take risks or try new things. By recognizing and challenging a fixed mindset, individuals can begin to shift their beliefs and behaviors towards a growth mindset, leading to increased motivation, resilience, and potential for success.

Here are five ways to change a fixed mindset:

  1. Embrace challenges: Instead of avoiding challenges, seek out opportunities to try new things and step outside of your comfort zone. This will help you develop a growth mindset and build resilience.
  2. Emphasize effort over ability: Focus on the effort you put in rather than the outcome. Recognize that hard work and dedication can lead to growth and improvement.
  3. Learn from criticism: Instead of feeling threatened by criticism, view it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Seek feedback and use it to improve your skills and performance.
  4. Embrace learning: Develop a love of learning and a curiosity for new things. This will help you develop new skills and improve your abilities.
  5. Cultivate a positive mindset: Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts and feelings, cultivate a positive mindset. Practice gratitude, mindfulness, and self-compassion to help you develop a growth mindset and achieve your goals.

10 Tips About the First of the Five "C's"

Mindfulness takes consistency and effort........... Kate Penwarn Thompson

Recently I was thinking about how I could explain to my clients about mindfulness, and mindset, in a way that made more sense and that was also a visual tool. I originally came up with the three "C's" and then it expanded into Five "C's".

So what are these five things that can help you begin to change your mindset around the things you don't want and believe that you can create the things that you do want. The first "C" stands for Cancel. Let me tell you a little more about that.

Here are 5 tips on canceling a negative thought
  1. Acknowledge the thought and remind yourself that it is only a thought, not a fact.
  2. Acknowledge your feeling and let it pass through.
  3. Take a few deep breaths and focus on the present moment.
  4. Practice gratitude daily to help shift your mindset to a more positive one.
  5. Talk to a friend or family member about the thought and get their perspective.
So let's take the first step. To acknowledge the thought you have be aware of it, which is being mindful. So many thoughts come through your brain every day and are generally very familiar therefore making it difficult to acknowledge if you're not practicing mindfulness.

Here’s 5 tips to practice mindfulness
  1. Focus on your breath: Take a few moments to simply focus on your breath and the sensation of inhaling and exhaling.
  2. Take a mindful walk: When you take a walk, pay attention to the sights, smells, and sounds around you. Notice how your body moves and shifts with each step.
  3. Enjoy the present moment: Take a few moments to appreciate the little things in life. Notice the beauty around you, the taste of your food, the warmth of the sun.
  4. Practice acceptance: Allow yourself to feel whatever emotions come up, and observe them without judgement.
  5. Set aside time for yourself: Dedicate some time each day to practice mindfulness. This could be as short as 10 minutes or as long as an hour.
Practicing these tips can help you to begin to CANCEL unwanted thoughts causing negative feelings that stop you from creating the things you desire. Learning to disrupt negative thoughts also increases your belief that you can achieve the desires of your heart.

Some essential Oils that help to increase awareness, lock in belief, and cancel negative thoughts are:  Clarity, Believe, Transformation, Inner Child, and my new favorite Inner Child.  You can go HERE to check out these oils from Young Living.

10 Tips About the Law of Polarity

A winner is a dreamer who never gave up..........Nelson Mandela

Today we're going to talk about the 7the Law, the Law of Polarity. This law simply states that one is really two.

What does the Law of Polarity mean?

The Law of Polarity states that everything in life has an opposite. This law can be applied to many different areas of life, from physical objects to feelings and emotions. It is a fundamental concept in many spiritual and metaphysical disciplines, and it suggests that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

It also suggests that for every force, there is an opposing force, and for every expression of energy, there is an equal and opposite expression of energy. This law can help us to better understand the world around us and the interactions between people.

What are five things that tell us we are not practicing the law of polarity?
  1. Not taking responsibility for our actions and their consequences.
  2. Not recognizing the positive potential in every situation.
  3. Not recognizing that we have the power to create our own reality.
  4. Not understanding that we are all connected and have an effect on each other.
  5. Not understanding that we can create a better world by choosing kindness and understanding over hatred and judgment.
When we are not taking care of thoughts that create actions we don't desire we are operating in 'lack' and therefore cannot reach our full potential. When we are mindful of our thoughts and feelings our outcomes are way more successful.
We have the potential and power to create what we desire, not what we don't.

When we understand we are all connected and we do have an effect on each other and ourselves when we are choosing kindness instead of hatred or judgment. Judgment has no place in our lives as it prevents us from moving into what God and the Universe have planned for us. "Judgment is mine, says the Lord." Romans 12: 19-21.

What are 5 tips to practice the Law of Polarity?
  1. Identify your polarity - Be aware of the two sides of any issue or situation and accept them both.
  2. Develop your understanding - Take time to explore and understand the two sides of any polarity.
  3. Practice non-judgment - Refrain from judging either side of the polarity.
  4. Act with intention - Make conscious decisions in how you interact with the two sides of the polarity.
  5. Find balance - Aim to bring balance to the two sides of the polarity and create harmony.
Here are a few opposites that can and will affect your life if you choose the negative side.

Balance vs insecurity. If you are not balanced you are not grounded and this will cause extremes in thinking, feeling, acting, and outcome.
Joy vs Sadness. Choosing joyfulness and encouraging positive energy in times of restlessness and feeling uneasy.
Hopeful vs Hopeless. When you lose hope you lose sight of your visions, goals, and dreams. Choosing hope will help you to reconnect with a feeling of strength and grounding, restoring hope for tomorrow.

Mindful vs Oblivious. Being mindful, and practicing mindfulness, creates awareness of your thinking and helps to change patterns of not heeding thoughts that lead to unwelcome outcomes. Choosing to be mindful leads you to manifest your desires and uplifts your belief that you can achieve them.

Clarity vs Vagueness. Having clarity around where you desire to be in your life will always give you insight, instead of feeling like you are in a fog unable to make clear and precise decisions.

Some of the essential oils I recommend here are a blend of Frankincense, Lavender, and Stress Away. The components in these three oils can bring balance and grounding which stops us from going to extremes. It will also increase spiritual awareness, promote prayer and meditation, improve attitude, and uplift spirits. Another oil here is Peace and Calming, which helps with emotions like fear of losing control.

Other oils you might like to try are Joy, which speaks for itself, and Into the Future which inspires determination and a pioneering spirit to create a strong emotional feeling of being able to reach one's potential. Hope can be used to move forward, and Transformation reaches into the deepest recesses of memories as it empowers and upholds changes you desire to make in your belief system.

Ten tips on how to get out of the rut!

Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results................. Willie Nelson.

Everyone can have negative thoughts and do them on a regular basis, though dwelling on them can lead to becoming stuck in them and causing us to be frustrated, overwhelmed, and derailed in our goals and dreams. Changing thoughts can be challenging if you have a tendency to focus on where you've been instead of where you want to go.

Here are a few tips on how you can change your thoughts.

Five tips for changing negative thoughts.
  1. Take a few moments to acknowledge the thoughts and feelings that come up. Recognizing them as valid can help you take a step back and let the thoughts pass.
  2. When you start to have negative thoughts, challenge them with positive statements. For example, if your thought is “I’m not good enough,” you can challenge it by saying “I am capable and strong.”
  3. Stop comparing yourself to others. Everyone has their own unique strengths and weaknesses, and comparing yourself to someone else’s successes or failures won’t help you.
  4. Find a distraction. Doing something that requires all your focus, such as a puzzle or a new
hobby can help you forget about negative thoughts and replace them with something positive.
  5. Talk to someone you trust.  Talking about your negative thoughts can help you gain perspective and feel supported.  A friend or a Life Coach can help you look at the situation differently and find a healthier way of thinking.
Getting stuck generally means we are focused on what we don't want. The Universal Law of Attraction states that what you focus on expands, whether that be negative or positive. This law is at work whether you are aware of it or not and may be the reason you are beating yourself up over not achieving your desire, and not believing you can.

How do I focus on what I want instead of what I don't want?

Focusing on what you want instead of what you don't want is a great way to manifest the life you desire. Here are a few tips to get you started:
  1. Identify what you want: Spend some time writing down or visualizing the specific things you want to experience in life.
  2. Visualize your goals: Spend a few minutes each day visualizing those goals and how achieving them would make you feel.
  3. Take action: Take small steps every day to move closer to achieving your goals.
  4. Stay positive: When you find yourself focusing on what you don't want, take a deep
breath and refocus on what you do want.
  5. Celebrate successes: Celebrate the small successes along the way, as they will help keep
    your focus on the positive.

By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to manifesting the life of your dreams!

Why the heck is it so hard to change?

Change is inevitable.

Even if you resist change, it will still happen.

So why wait, or fret about changes that happen in your life?

Over the last couple of years, a lot has changed in my life.  Some changes for the better, some not so good.

For instance, once upon a time, I was naive enough to think that there were some things that would never change. Things like, I would move in the same circle of friends, I would continue down the same path in my career, I would never think of moving or selling my home, and I was staying in my church forever.

If you relate to any of that then you know that change happens whether you like it or not.  Friends suddenly move on, that career becomes not what you envisioned, and the Universe has a different plan that is not in a direction you can even imagine.

The most important thing to realize about change is its growth!  It's learning to flow with the stream instead of fighting against the tide.

It's understanding that you may grow in a different direction from friends and colleagues and when that happens it's OK to make new friends and new contacts.

Moving and changing to grow and expand is part of fulfilling your purpose.

So, why the heck is it so hard to change?

There are a couple of things:

1.  Old habits are hard to shake.

2. You have an enormous desire, though you don't know how to make it happen so you don't make a move.

3. You don't believe that your dreams and goals can really happen.

4. You are afraid of failure and the repercussions that you perceive come with that.

5.  You think you need to be perfect before you can achieve your goals and dreams.

All of these reasons are just thoughts coming from feelings that are preventing you from moving forward, changing your present, to achieve your future.
